Chicago’s Pride Month festivities will come to a close on Sunday with the city’s annual Pride Parade, marking one of the largest in the country — and even the world.

We’re just hours away from the start of one of the world’s largest pride celebrations, with the 53rd annual Chicago Pride Parade set to step off late Sunday morning.

Bars, restaurants, and businesses in Chicago’s Lakeview were prepared and ready for one of the largest pride parades in the country — with two days to go.

Days off will be canceled for Chicago police officers, the city’s top cop said, for the 2024 Chicago Pride Parade, one of the largest pride parades in the country. When the parade steps off Sunday, visitors will also encounter many changes. NBC Chicago’s Vi Nguyen reports.

The parade, in its 53rd year, serves as “the crowning event of Pride Month in Chicago.” It also will see a number of changes for 2024, including a new start time, new route and smaller number of floats.
